If you're getting close to retirement and don't know much
about bonds, you're not alone.
Many baby boomers came of age in an equity culture and haven't
paid enough attention to the fixed-income side of their retirement
balance sheets, said Marilyn Cohen, chief executive of Envision
Capital Management Inc. in Los Angeles. Cohen manages bond
portfolios for wealthy individuals and is the author of "The
Bond Bible."
With stocks still volatile, Cohen offered some advice on how
boomers nearing retirement with average nest eggs should be
positioning their bond portfolios, which she said should account
for at least half of their investment assets.
